Welcome to CMHA Thunder Bay Branch
Our Vision:
An inclusive community that promotes emotional well being, human dignity and social justice, where people are valued and opportunities in all aspects of life are available to everyone.
Our Mission
C.M.H.A-Thunder Bay Branch is committed to supporting individual recovery and promoting mental wellness within families and communities.
The mission is accomplished through participation of individuals living with mental illness, clinical and rehabilitation services, public education, social change and advocacy, and community collaboration.
Our Mandate
As part of a national volunteer organization, our mandate is to provide service and to advocate with and for people affected by mental illness and to provide education that assists in the early identification and intervention of mental health problems.
We believe that each person should have access to treatment for the primary symptoms of the illness itself, rehabilitation to maximize strengths in activities of daily living and support to sustain a good quality of life.
Our Community Role
In reflecting the provincial vision for community-based mental health services, C.M.H.A Thunder Bay will continue to provide direct delivery of services and to coordinate the provision of services through partnerships with other organizations.
Our Regional Role
C.M.H.A Thunder Bay considers regional needs in the coordination and delivery of selected services. The development of additional collaborative arrangements will build an integrated network of services for all individuals and their families in the region.
