Ethical Fundraising and Accountability Code

Donor Bill of Rights:

C.M.H.A. Thunder Bay is dedicated to morally and financially responsible fundraising practises.  Our organization respects the rights of our donors and adheres to the guidelines of the Ethical & Financial Accountability Code developed by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy.

The Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code (ethical code) is a set of standards and benchmarks that enables organizations to manage their funds responsibly and report their financial affairs accurately and completely. It was created in response to growing public concern about accountability in the sector and remains the best way for a charity to assess its transparency and accountability.

Individual Giving

Did you know that 1 in 5 people in Ontario will experience a mental health problem? That could be your friend, your neighbour, or even yourself. The good news is, with the proper care and support, people with a mental illness can continue to lead productive and rewarding lives.

More than ever before, the C.M.H.A. relies on the public’s support to continue the programs and services that are so desperately needed. These programs include support groups, job finding and retraining, youth outreach and education, and many other programs throughout Ontario. With the many changes in the health care system, these programs are becoming even more valuable. It is essential that people have a place to turn, for support, encouragement and hope, including family members of people with a mental illness. Your support is needed to make a difference in the lives of people with mental illness! Receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more unless otherwise requested.

Monthly Pledges

You can choose to make an annual pledge payable in monthly installments, via Visa or cheque. Just indicate your pledged amount and desired payment arrangements. Receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more unless otherwise requested.
