Participants will learn about:
- The experience of living with a mental illness
- The barriers to recovery for those diagnosed with an illness
- The tools needed from within each person and from the community to achieve wellness.
- How professionals and volunteers
can enhance thier ability to assist individuals in the recovery process
Photovoice is an excellent training tool for anyone who wants to assist those living with a mental illness in their process of recovery.
“I’m amazed by the quality of our product. With disposable cameras and perceptive group dialogue, images of tree roots, broken umbrellas, masks, drinking glasses and more were transformed into a vision of mental health recovery through the eyes of people in Thunder Bay who live with mental illness and poverty.”
Photovoice Artist, Annie Jollymore
Project Photographs: 32 of the project photographs have been enlarged and mounted on foam core. They are available for display upon request. Donations to the project are appreciated.
